I have always maintained a technology agnostic view of specialization. I believe every platform has its time, context and use, and the ability of a good tech professional is to be able to quickly up-skill on newer technologies as it presents itself. This approach has specifically helped me in the training outsourcing industry, where the need to quickly get into the shoes of a customer, and be able to deliver customer training is critical, if not mandatory.
Also, at the tech head of our COE, it is imperative that I keep abreast of what is happening around. The task, no doubt , is daunting considering the rapid change and influx of software products and solutions. But I firmly believe, there is no shortcut to this, and one should be ever ready to explore new horizons
